About Us

My name is Caitlin, I am a mum of 2, Registered Endorsed Midwife of 13 years and the owner of Beneath the Palms Midwifery. I relocated to Far North Queensland from Melbourne in 2015. I made the big move for a “temporary” change and fell in love with my now husband and this tropical paradise. I have worked across many different roles as a midwife, including as a Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) Midwife and Clinical Facilitator for new graduate midwives. My own journey into motherhood wasn’t smooth sailing, motivating me to create a service that solely revolves around the woman, her baby and the transition into motherhood. ​Nourishing self-trust, educating and supporting women through the journey into motherhood is my passion. I practice with the belief in the normalcy of pregnancy and birth, working in partnership with each woman and her family, encouraging informed decision making.​ ​ I believe pregnancy, birth and becoming a mother are profound events in a woman’s life and continuity of care is invaluable during this time. Research has consistently found that continuity of care provided by midwives from the antenatal through to postnatal stages improves physical and emotional outcomes for mothers, babies and their families.
